Threading and waxing can both create clean brows and remove facial hair, but they feel different and interact with skin differently. The right choice is less about which technique wins and more about your skin, the area and the finish you prefer.

How threading works

Threading uses twisted cotton thread to lift hairs from the follicle. It offers precise control around the brow and does not apply wax or heat to the skin. Many guests choose it for brows, upper lip or full-face grooming.

The sensation is quick and repetitive. Temporary redness can happen, particularly on reactive skin. Tell the therapist if you use prescription skincare, have active irritation or recently had a peel or procedure.

How waxing differs

Waxing removes several hairs at once using soft or hard wax. It can be efficient across larger areas and may suit people who prefer fewer repeated passes. Temperature, product choice and technique matter.

Some topical medicines and exfoliating products can make skin more fragile. Do not hide their use because you want the appointment to go ahead. Postponing is better than lifting or injuring sensitised skin.

Choose by area and preference

For detailed brow shaping, threading offers excellent control. Waxing may feel faster for upper lip, sideburns or broader facial areas. Some people combine techniques, using one for shape and another for surrounding cleanup.

If you are unsure, begin with a conversation and a conservative shape. Brow hair takes time to return, so there is no need to discover your boldest arch in one sitting.

Priya's Spa offers both threading and facial waxing, including express combinations. Ask what is suitable before booking if skin is irritated, sunburned or being treated medically.

Whichever method you choose, arrive with clean skin, follow aftercare and avoid touching the area repeatedly. The best result should look intentional without making the process a drama.
