Waxing removes hair and also temporarily leaves skin more reactive. Heat and humidity do not make aftercare complicated, but they make timing important.
Keep the area cool and clean
Follow the therapist's instructions. For the advised period, avoid intense heat, friction, heavily fragranced products and touching the area unnecessarily. Choose loose, clean clothing where possible.

Time swimming and exercise
Sweat, tight activewear, pools and sea water can irritate freshly waxed skin. Schedule the appointment so aftercare does not compete with a beach day or hard workout. The exact waiting period depends on the service and your skin, so use the advice given at the appointment.
Exfoliate later, not immediately
Once skin is calm and the recommended time has passed, gentle exfoliation may help reduce ingrown hairs. More pressure is not more prevention. Stop if skin becomes sore.
Review waxing options and mention prescription products, recent peels, sunburn or irritation before treatment. Worsening pain, blistering, pus or spreading redness requires appropriate medical advice.
The easiest aftercare strategy is scheduling. If Saturday is a beach day, Friday evening may not be the cleverest moment to discover a Brazilian wax.
